It is a great pleasure to see the regeneration which is taking place in Gainsborough town. We fought hard to get proper Levelling Up funding to unlock the town's potential. My persistent badgering of ministers paid off when they agreed to give us more than £10 million in funding for Gainsborough.

I went on BBC Look North last night to speak to the inimitable Peter Levy about Scampton. It has once again become very clear that the Home Office's case for their proposals to house migrants there has collapsed. I am pressuring ministers and officials to work with our district council to find spa

I am deeply alarmed by reports published in the Telegraph which suggest that Scampton could be housing migrants for as long as five years.

There will be more tragedies in the Channel and more and more hotels will fill up unless the Government acts immediately. As I have argued consistently: Every migrant entering the country illegally via the Channel must be arrested, charged with illegal entry, and detained.

I'm here at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough with an electric vehicle charging point. It's a welcome addition, but we need many more across Lincolnshire if diesel cars are to be phased out. The present timeline is not realistic and should be reconsidered. I have urged ministers to think about

I dropped in to Jobs 22 Ltd in Gainsborough to hear about how this social enterprise is getting people into work. They have had sorted out 173 job starts and 165 commercial earnings for people here in Lincolnshire. Manager Paul Bond tells me that good relations with the Job Centre are essential.

I am very saddened to hear of the death of a young boy in a road accident at the road junction near Grayingham where the B1398 meets the B1205. I know this crossroads well and I find it terrifying there.

I met up with the excellent team from the Maternity & Neonatal Unit of United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust and Better Births Lincolnshire. They are encouraging breast feeding.

I visited Eden Tyres & Servicing here in Gainsborough. It's great to welcome a new business to the town. They seem to be thriving. My thanks to Barry Campion for showing me round.  

I attended the public meeting of West Lindsey District Council's planning committee tonight to speak against the proposal to move the grave of Guy Gibson's dog. RAF Scampton is one of the most historic airfields in the history of the Royal Air Force.
