Many of my constituents work at the Scunthorpe steel works, but this is an issue of national importance.
There is no other major developed economy in the world that would ever dream about giving up their blast furnaces, the only way we can make virgin steel.
Today I asked ministers if they would make a firm commitment to keep our furnaces going.
No major developed country should give up its capability to produce virgin steel.
