Taking good land out of agricultural use when global food distribution has been disrupted by Russia's invasion of Ukraine is the height of folly.
I've asked ministers to expand the protections that exist for Grade 1, 2, and 3a agricultural land to protect Grade 3b land as well. When it comes to growing wheat, it's pretty much the same quality.
We shouldn't take good growing land and built massive farms of solar panels on them.
The best way to have food security is to grow as much of your own food as possible. That's why we should extend planning protections for Grade 1, 2, and 3a agricultural land to Grade 3b too.

We must keep good land in agricultural use, not convert it to swathes of solar panels. pic.twitter.com/phv3HIXql0
