I would like to thank a constituent of mine near Torksey who has shared her experience of the vaccination rollout here in Lincolnshire:
Today I received my second vaccination injection. I was slightly ahead of my 12-week time scale while my husband is some two weeks behind me. I was emailed to direct me to make the appointment and arrived to find an army of people to direct me through a one way route to get to the vaccinating room It was so well organised that the only word to use is ‘Perfect'. That so many of these people are volunteering their time and energy to keeping people safe and moving easily is a measure of the British desire to get a very essential task done and dusted.
Perhaps I am expressing my gratitude to a person far removed from the process but I rely upon you to pass this message on both upward and down to those who have, for many weeks, been doing this valuable task. From the Government down we have recognised that this vaccination programme is needed to give us some chance to beat this impossible virus. The more people who take advantage of this service, the more chance we have of having normal routines returned to our lives.
I have had my second jab! It is amazing to think that I am one step closer to being relatively safe from the killer that is attacking the human race. That we have reached this point so quickly is almost beyond belief. So may I, through your offices, send my appreciation to all involved and concerned in the whole programme. It cannot be bettered.[Name Withheld]
Thank you yet again to all the NHS staff and volunteers who have helped to ensure our vaccine rollout has been so successful.
