I welcome the increased vigilance on student visas that ministers announced today. It's a step in the right direction.
The fact remains that legal migration is out of control and the British people did not vote for Brexit to replace mass migration from Europe with mass migration from the rest of the world.
We will never deal with legal migration until we solve the labour problem. Home-grown employers in Britain are paying too low wages and trying to attract people from all over the world.
Why do we not raise the threshold so that those who want to come here and get a job need to earn average earnings?
