For years we have debated the restoration of the Palace of Westminster. Immense progress has been made in renewing the roof and other projects but there is still much more work to be done and no agreed plan.
Fire is the greatest existential threat and many more prevention systems have been installed. Technology has advanced, though, and we can now install a water mist system that can severely retard the spread of any fire without damaging paintings and other artwork.
We need less talk and more action on restoring the Houses of Parliament.
