Grilling the Home Office over Scampton

I am here with District Cllr Roger Patterson and County Cllr Richard Butroid.

We managed to get the Home Office to send officials to meet with our local councillors regarding their proposals to house illegal migrants at RAF Scampton.

They claim they want to go live with fifty migrants at Scampton by the end of September.

I'm sceptical they'll be able to work on that timeline, given the obstacles in their way.

We've pointed out time and again that the site is more complicated than they understand.

I've asked ministers to work with the district council to find another site in West Lindsey so we can push ahead with Scampton's regeneration.
