I went to visit David Ward, the sub postmaster at East Barkwith.

He has been a powerful voice for postmasters in the East Midlands and has been a great help keeping me up to date on the many issues affecting them.

Not least is the Horizon scandal which was highlighted by a recent television programme. We need proper remuneration for all the postmasters affected by it.

I am also pressing ministers to radically reform the way Post Office Ltd is structured to cut off an entire level of management and put power in the hands of the postmasters.
